We are Cuppa Coffee Games, a studio founded by a group of friends graduating from Brunel University based around London. We are passionate and creative individuals wanting to meet others with similar aspirations and share stylish, engaging experiences through our games.

As a team, we aim to use Tranzfuser to continue growing our studio and learn more about the industry. Additionally, Tranzfuser will allow us to take that extra step towards bringing our first title ‘ScrapShift’ to a full release.

About the project

ScrapShift is a third-person hack-and-slash game for PC, focused on smooth and stylish combat. As Kaila, players utilise the magnets of two weaponized gauntlets to navigate a vibrant scrapyard city inspired by the fusion of the Australian Outback and the favelas of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. By beating up enemies, players can attract scrap onto their gauntlets to form a variety of weapons that will help Kaila rise to the top and defeat the gang that took her grandmother from her.

Aesthetically, the game takes inspiration from Bomb Rush Cyberfunk and the Borderlands series and combines it with an in-depth combat system inspired by Hack-and-Slash titles such as Bayonetta and the Devil May Cry series.

Having spoken to prior participants from our university, Tranzfuser has been the goal for the entire team since we started developing ScrapShift. The competition will allow us to bridge connections with other teams, both past and present, and create a strong community with a cohort of people with similar aspirations. Tranzfuser allows us to take our first steps into the industry; creating a studio where we are free to chase our ideas and forge something we can be proud of.
