Tranzfuser brings ProtoPlay home to Dundee
Teams from across the UK will come together in the heart of Scotland’s game dev sector to showcase their games and practice their pitching skills in the innovative and impressive Michelin Scotland Innovation Parc (MSIP*).
After almost a decade of supporting the entrepreneurial graduate games development talent across the UK, this year’s Tranzfuser competition sees all 19 teams come together in Scotland’s sunniest city for the annual showcase event. ProtoPlay 2024 will play host to the graduate teams, travelling to Dundee in September and make the MSIP their base camp as they take part in the final showcase event.
Formerly a large single product factory, today MSIP provides a dynamic and creative home for a variety of innovators, manufactures and skills leaders who are actively working towards reducing carbon emissions and fostering a cleaner, more sustainable future for all. The perfect setting for ProtoPlay 2024!
Deborah Farley, Head of Foundership, said:
“Dundee, the birthplace of many globally recognised and loved games, is the natural home for the team that runs both Tranzfuser and the UK Games Fund. Bringing nationwide talent such as the incredible graduate teams to the city is a fantastic opportunity for both the developers and game playing public.”
As with recent years of Tranzfuser, the teams will have dedicated time and space to practice their business pitching skills. Colleagues and peers from across the sizeable UK Games Fund community of games dev professionals will spend time with each team in a one-to-one practice pitch environment, sharing feedback and suggestions for improvement along the way.
Allowing the teams the space and freedom to sharpen their pitching skills in this way has proven to be invaluable over the years. We know from experience that teams grow in confidence during and after these sessions, taking away hugely important lessons about how to approach pitching going forward.
As well as showcasing their games to the game-playing public, the teams will have the opportunity to meet with local industry professionals and grow their all-important network of contacts. Such invaluable opportunities would not be possible were ProtoPlay held anywhere but Dundee.
ProtoPlay will be open to the public 27th – 28th September. Capacity will be limited so make sure you secure a ticket when they become available.
ProtoPlay will run at the same time as the Dundee Design Festival, Scotland’s national celebration of contemporary design. The festival brings over 100 designers from every design category together under one roof and is brought to life by demonstrations, workshops and talks.
