Tranzfuser Project Description

Escalar is an adventure precision platformer, with collectathon & puzzle elements. Climb a mysterious tower to reach the rumoured treasures that lie within!

Escalar challenges players to platform with precision as they climb the hazardous tower, however one wrong jump could plunge you down the tower and into the depths of despair! Use grenades, grapple hooks, your climbing skills or charge jump your way up the tower. Collect gems to buy upgrades from Burlar’s Bazaar, use your upgraded abilities to reach new unexplored areas!

Quick Q&A

If you could turn the clock back, would you do anything differently?

I wouldn’t change a thing! I learned from every mistake, from success to failure.

What made you want to take part in the competition?

We wanted to enter Tranzfuser as an opportunity to try and build our own studio, where we could create our own games as well as chart our own future. A chance to experience what its like to be a start up games studio in the UK, we knew it would be tough but nothing worth achieving in life is easy so we just wanted to seize the moment and just really give it our all.

Why should the up-and-coming game dev talent of tomorrow apply to Tranzfuser?

If you want to start a games business, then this is the greatest opportunity you can ask for. You will get support from industry experts and showcase your game for the public to play.

What benefits did Tranzfuser bring to your game dev career?

Tranzfuser gave me the skills I needed to not just run a game business but meaningfully engage with publishers, the pitching & presentation skills would have taken me years to gain any other way. I can’t thank the Tranzfuser team enough for giving us the opportunity, to network with amazing people and learn an unbelievable amount of skills.

What are you doing now?

We are continuing to develop Escalar for Release at the end of this year, and we’ve started a new mobile project and brought on a new team member to help with it. We plan to release our mobile project in a couple of months, before moving onto another project in January 2024.
