Community Contribution Propels Teams to Success

The Power of the Community

Our portfolio of funded companies continues to dedicate their much-valued time to Tranzfuser with over 240 expert hours devoted to this year’s teams.

While non repayable, UK Games Fund grant funding asks portfolio companies to engage with community programme activity that acts to support up-and-coming games dev talent. Tranzfuser, our graduate game dev talent competition, has just wrapped up with the annual public-facing showcase event, ProtoPlay.

Kirsty Gibson, Head of Impact, said:

“The UK’s indie games dev sector is a welcoming network in which to belong where experience fosters collaboration. Here at UKGTF, we value our role as intermediary in supporting connections across the sector. Collaboration across our portfolio of programmes can help to promote growth, encourage new entrepreneurial talent to flourish and build lasting positive relationships. Having experienced industry veterans spend time with the games dev talent of tomorrow proves to be a win-win for all involved.”

Tranzfuser 2024 saw an impressive 240+ hours of dedicated Community Contribution from our portfolio of funded companies. These hours were spread across such things as one-to-one facilitator feedback, practice pitching, Games Biz Academy sessions and dedicated playtesting.

Deborah Farley, Head of Foundership at UKGTF, said:

“All 19 teams demonstrated passion, professionalism and innovation in their Tranzfuser participation and all have been supported throughout by industry professionals as part of UKGTF’s wider Community Contribution initiative.”

“Community Contribution plays a pivotal role in the success of the work we do and we wanted to take this opportunity to celebrate the success of the small but mighty UK indie dev sector!”

An announcement about the Tranzfuser teams selected for grant support from the UK Games Fund will be shared soon.
