Studio Wife is a new London-based studio specialising in narrative-driven games. The three of us participating in Tranzfuser this year come from varied backgrounds, with a wide range of skills and perspectives. We believe that this is a strength, and hope to harness our experiences to create innovative games for audiences that may be underserved by the current market.
After studying Masters degrees in VR, Game Design, and Japanese Studies in London, we have brought our expertise together to create a VR game that we believe is both original and accessible to a wide audience. We hail from locations ranging from Santiago de Chile to Essex, but are united in our love of narrative, music, and Japan, all of which are strong influences on our game. We hope that Tranzfuser will give us the structure and support needed to create something we are truly proud of.
About the project
“(We Are All) Stars in the Galaxy” is a VR game about being a pop idol in space. Inspired by the electric atmosphere of Japanese idol concerts, the player experiences being both an idol and a fan, with the goal of pumping up an audience on a spaceship. A rhythm game mechanic inspired by the likes of “Maestro” and “Beat Saber” combines with an intriguing narrative that encourages the player to examine their own relationship to music.Featuring music from independent artists, “(We Are All) Stars in the Galaxy” will appeal to lovers of music, Japanese culture, and anyone who appreciates novel experiences.
With a unique premise and engaging story, we hope to make a VR experience that will both appeal to seasoned VR players and attract new audiences to this wonderful medium. The game aspires to excellence and inclusivity — after all, we are _all_ stars in this galaxy.

According to data from Beauhurst, 76.9% of the active gaming companies in the UK have an all-male director team. As a female founder leading a Tranzfuser team of devs who are all from backgrounds that are underrepresented in the games industry, it can sometimes be hard to feel that you have “permission” to have entrepreneurial ambitions in this space. Being accepted into Tranzfuser not only provides us with the support and opportunities necessary to take our next steps in the industry, but also the confidence to make the games we want to make. We hope to use this opportunity to not only make an excellent game, but lay the foundations for a sustainable studio moving forward.
