Jardus Games is a team of graduates from the University of Portsmouth, having studied Computer Games Production and Virtual & Augmented Reality. Chris, our lead artist and producer, and Ethan, our lead designer and programmer, completed a self-employed placement year in which they developed a mobile game demo. We are now joined by Becca, our technical artist, to create visually stunning experiences, complementing the deep and compelling narratives we wish to tell. We hope our unique stories and mechanics will inspire players to think in ways they haven’t before.

We’re excited to utilise Tranzfuser to develop a strong prototype and help us build the skills we need to grow into a sustainable, long-term business with a community and funding supporting all our future games.

About the project

At Eternity’s Hatch is a first-person mystery puzzle adventure set aboard a 1950s research vessel. Stranded at sea in an alternate timeline, the player must utilise the ship’s time-travel abilities to uncover information, solve puzzles across multiple timelines and alter the past and present to return home. With puzzles tied to narrative, they will discover secrets about the ship’s origin, its enigmatic captain, and his quest that has led him to the Greenland Sea, in the hope that they will eventually understand enough to control the forces of science and nature at their whim, playing their part to determine the outcome of the story.

The game will be available on PC and is designed for fans of narrative-driven, atmospheric puzzle games, such as Outer Wilds and Return of the Obra Dinn, who are motivated by curiosity, love uncovering layered mysteries, and appreciate games that reward observation and thoughtful problem-solving.

We applied to Tranzfuser because it offers a valuable opportunity to turn our game concept into a high-quality prototype, while gaining hands-on experience in the business side of development with expert mentorship and support. As a team, we're excited to build the skills needed to establish our studio and grow into a sustainable, long-term business. For us, Tranzfuser represents the first step towards building a community and securing long-term funding, supporting the development of At Eternity’s Hatch and our future games.
