Tranzfuser 2025 Teams Announced

As we enter our tenth year of Tranzfuser, today marks the start of the 2025 competition. 21 talented graduate game development teams from across the UK have been selected to take part.

Over the years, hundreds of entrepreneurial teams have graduated from the Tranzfuser programme with many going on to secure UKGF grant support for the continued commercial development of their own-IP games. Since launching, Tranzfuser has grown in popularity as passionate teams of graduate game devs apply to secure a coveted place in the competition. This year is no exception with a record-breaking number of applications submitted from across the UK.

With projects ranging from cosy craft builders to farm-themed roguelike chess games, this year’s teams once again represent the UK’s graduate games dev talent that have the potential to be tomorrow’s indie success stories.

The 2025 Teams

As with every year, Tranzfuser works closely with a highly engaged network of select Local Hubs. These Hubs can act as a base for the teams, providing where possible space, facilities and even networking support.

“As a Local Hub, Teesside Launchpad is delighted to be supporting two local teams this year. We are very proud to see our talented graduates taking the initiative to rise to this fantastic opportunity. Tranzfuser is important as it not only fosters the next generation of game developers but also helps strengthen the regional games ecosystem. We can’t wait to see how the teams develop over the next few months.”

Tranzfuser 2025 sees the 21 teams working independently on their game, finessing a vertical slice ready to put on show to the game-playing public in September. Over the summer, the teams will have the freedom to follow their entrepreneurial ambitions but with the invaluable support that only Tranzfuser can offer. With the curated suite of learning resources offered by our in-house Games Biz Academy, the teams will be offered the opportunity to learn about much more than just the technical skills needed to produce games – the much-needed entrepreneurial hustle, the development of a strong foundership and the path to building a sustainable studio will all be touched on over the summer.

“These exciting graduate teams have already done so well to achieve a highly sought after place on Tranzfuser and should be incredibly proud of that, but the real hard work starts now! The next 14 weeks will see the teams work closely with their handpicked industry mentor, oftentimes these are game dev veterans from the UKGF portfolio of funded companies. The 21 teams will have the opportunity to work individually as teams in liaison with their local hub, but there will be lots of coming together around cohort-led activities. We cannot wait to get going with this year’s teams and to see where the weeks’ ahead take us!”

“As a female founder leading a Tranzfuser team of devs who are all from backgrounds that are underrepresented in the games industry, it can sometimes be hard to feel that you have “permission” to have entrepreneurial ambitions in this space. Being accepted into Tranzfuser not only provides us with the support and opportunities necessary to take our next steps in the industry, but also the confidence to make the games we want to make. We hope to use this opportunity to not only make an excellent game but lay the foundations for a sustainable studio moving forward.”

The Tranzfuser 2025 teams will bring their games to this year’s showcase event later this year. More detail about where that will be and key dates will be shared in due course.
