Broken Pixel Studios is a team of 5 soon-to-be graduates from Futureworks School Of Media. Each of our team members are hard working individuals with a passion for creating fun unique experiences. We are aiming to create a fun new local co op competitive game that will be accessible to all but have enough depth to be mastered. With Tranzfuser’s help and our drive we aim to have the game released on the Nintendo Switch in 2018.

About the project

Royal Fisticuffs is a predominantly local co-op competitive game in which players will adventure through various unique themed kingdoms to conquer levels and defeat bosses to gain favour from the people. In the game the player can’t die which means that the player will always be in the conflict whether it’s against the boss or other players. As there is no death within the game, the winner is judged by most damage dealt to the boss.

About the project

Vert is a third-person fantasy brawler for up to four players. Experience the adrenaline pumping death-sport as you climb a perilous arena of dizzying heights, knock your competitors senseless with a variety of weapons, survive hostile environments, and outrun the ever-closing catch, in an effort to be the last hero standing and win the honour of being crowned Sentinel!

About the project

Honeypot Espionage is an online VR multiplayer shooter, focused on stealth combat, in which you are put against other Spies in a combat arena. The last man standing wins. As a Spy, you are completely invisible, but you will begin to materialize if you move, fire a weapon or set a trap. If you don’t want killed, stay still. Think Predator meets SuperHot. The slower you move in real life the harder you are to see. You can set traps and decoys to trick other players into revealing their location to try to come out on top.

Pioneer Games is a six-person team of recent graduates from the University of the West of Scotland covering a variety of vocations. About the project

Feralz is a 2D Adventure Puzzle Platformer which will follow the story of the adorable yet vicious island-dwelling-tribal creatures. Primarily designed for mobile platforms and inspired by early PC games such as Lemmings. In the aftermath of an unnatural storm which has struck the Feralz homeland some tribe members have been displaced to the surrounding islands. The chieftain (player) must control the actions of the Feralz and combine multiple classes to both vanquish enemies and overcome environmental dangers to rescue their fellow tribe members. Various class combinations can be used to overcome the same obstacle allowing multiple playstyles.

We have taken part in several game jams together, while our individual members have each worked on their own individual projects, some of which stretch beyond games. Our goal is to strike a balance between a strong narrative and a memorable mechanic or two, creating an accessible experience for any player with an interest in the subject matter of our game. The only other unifying theme our games share is the recurrence of an enigmatic archetype who goes by the name “Donny”…

About the project

“Project Memoir” is an isometric puzzle-adventure game with an environmentally focused story, in which the player controls a Necromancer who delves into the memories of the dead. They must explore the memories of five long-dead members of a Fallen Empire, represented by five sets of levels. The player navigates through them by moving between platforms of different heights and shifting these platforms to reconstruct the memories. In doing so they seek to ultimately uncover the meaning within these memories, and use this information to save the current Empire, which is showing signs of collapse.

Oozing from the depths of space comes a threat the likes of which mankind has never faced! They cannot be reasoned with! Bullets can’t stop them! Only the fantastic science of the golden age has a chance to halt… The Six-Sided Slime From Outer Space!!
Six-Sided Slime is a frenetic base-defender where hordes of gelatinous cubes rain from the skies, intent on devouring all in their path. You are a brilliant but mad scientist whose crazed inventions may be the only defence against the cuboid menace.

About the project

Prowl is a third person, online Player versus Player game with a focus around hunting and stalking other players. It is heavily influenced by Mayan, Aztec and tribal culture with players utilising mainly bows and arrows for combat purposes as well as using melee in close combat. The game will consist of multiple dynamic environments which react to players as they traverse through the map. The game will have multiple game modes to allow players to play casually or competitively.

About the project

In a game of bright visuals and simple one touch gameplay, Moo Moo Move sees you controlling a herd of chubby cows. The setting changes to different locations across the Wild West but the goal is the same: you must guide your plump friends to safety. Take your herd through a host of colourful obstacles in this fun, addictive arcade game.

About the project

This Dead Winter is a dark fantasy adventure game set in an ancient woodland, gripped by eternal winter. You’re one of the few remaining animals left, a bright red fox. Your cub was mysteriously taken and you must find a way to get her back.
Embark on a journey through the ruins of a lost civilisation and into the heart of an otherworldly forest. Some creatures remain amongst the woods and won’t grant access to the secrets of their world easily.
Solve world building puzzles in a serene, frozen landscape and find out if you’ll be fight or flight.

Beware of the Dark is a single player, story-driven adventure game where you play as the young and determined Rina along with her best friend Koga. Your goal is to guide Rina home through her world that has been overcome by darkness and fear, solving puzzles and avoiding unknown dangers.

About the project

Irate Pirate is a first-person VR experience where the player takes on the role of the Pirate Captain sailing The Asimov (A fine vessel by any count) and commanding their robot pirate crew through dangerous waters. Utilising the Oculus Touch controls, Irate Pirate aims to provide an authentic pirating experience, having the Captain handle the ropes, yard and wheel, direct broadsides into enemy vessels and navigate your way through a number of challenging levels.

About the project

‘I’ is a First-Person Interactive VR Puzzle game for HTC Vive inspired by Portal and Splinter Cell.  You play as Theseus, a self-aware robot, that awakes to find himself trapped under a pile of the deactivated bodies of his fellow comrades. Unaware of how he got there he needs to escape this nightmare. His body still functions partially, his eye can detach itself and can be used as a camera drone and also play part in his manoeuvrability. Trapped in a labyrinth of rooms, can you lead Theseus to safety by solving the challenges presented?

About the project

Ascend is a 3rd person narrative driven adventure game inspired by Norse mythology which tells the tale of a conflict between two opposing forces, the Warden and the Wolf. The player takes control of a mysterious guardian who must traverse through a forsaken land, cleansing the land and awakening her true powers to undo the tyranny of the Wolf before it consumes the World.

About the project

A fast-paced 2.5D roguelike for the PC, with procedurally generated dungeons populated by a multitude of enemies based on a deck of cards selected by the player. This deck based system allows the player to create their own difficulty; easy for a quick and fun dungeon crawl, or difficult for a much higher chance of awesome loot – that’s stronger equipment, bigger weapons or even breath taking magic.

Static Shell is a group of like minded individuals who have been working together for a long time. We have participated in multiple game jams and graduated from the same university. Since graduating we have registered Static Shell Studios as an official company and have been developing Unjust, our first game as a company. Our team was one of the Dare to be Digital 2016 competition finalists and although we didn’t win any prizes, we gained invaluable experience which has led us to where we are now. We are highly dedicated, ambitious and will take any challenge head on.


About the project

Unjust is a fast-paced multiplayer experience where four players must cooperate to survive dangerous environments controlled by another player. Experience a nerve-racking gameplay session by joining the Runner team. The Runners cooperate to get as many objects to the other side of the level in the given time limit. If you prefer being in control, play as the Blocker and use the many tools in your arsenal in order to mince, crush or otherwise disable the Runners, stopping them from reaching their goal. Unjust aims to bridge the gap between mobile and PC by allowing cross platform sessions.

About the project

Supernatural office work with a macabre twist. Death is a Desk Job is a 3D VR, dark comedy, puzzle-strategy game. You are an employee of Grim Inc, the company that sorts all of the human deaths of the mortal realm. You are sick of your desk job and you want to get promoted to a field agent also known as a Grim Reaper. From your desk, you’re given cases of 3 people who are close to death. Based on a variety of conditions, you choose who lives and who dies, whilst also keeping balance in the afterlife.

Shuttershade Studios is working on a Virtual Reality game with its main aim being to bring people together to experience this incredible new technology. It primarily consists of a collection of various minigames that leverages the possibility of the technology. Players can compete globally through an online leader board system or locally with their own friends in a casual competitive environment. The goal is to create a VR game which easily introduces players to this technology.

About the project

Beyond Arm’s Reach is an action-adventure platformer. The player must use their grappling hook to navigate and interact with the world in various ways. The game takes place in a steampunk universe during the 1950s where mankind has exhausted the entirety of Earth’s coal, and an invaluable sought after material. Society has been divided into the poor, and the wealthy. The poor are barely able to survive, living inside the abandoned coal mines, which lie beneath Earth’s severely polluted surface. The wealthy population are inhabited in exquisite dream-like cities, situated on the utopic, cloudland sky islands.

Dark Planet Studios is a new, five man team operating out of the South Wales hub. Having worked alongside each other for the last few months we are looking to push ourselves further beyond education and into the world. While ambitious in nature everyone plays their part; Courtney and Ben, our 3D and Technical artists create the visuals to Stellarmania. Jordan manages statistics, databases and user interface while Ryan gets stuck into the programming, alongside Finn, who also leads the team.

About the project

Stellarmania is a multiplayer space strategy game set in the not-too-distant future where deep space is now a viable commercial venture. The player must build up and push their prospective company to success, be it via trade and economics, research and technological advancements or via military might on escort duty – or perhaps piracy in the lawlessness of space. Stellarmania is made of two major parts: real time strategy in the form of live simulated space fleet battles, and slower, more persistent management level where the player must balance the books and negotiate with other players.

About the project

Our game is going to be a family friendly first person shooter based around science and adventure. Players take on the role of a group of peaceful explorers, who end up being caught up in the middle of a robot alien invasion. Players use a single multi-tool throughout the game that they experiment with by combing different elements. Face the odds alone or use the local multiplayer system to team up with friends and family to save the planet together!

About the project

Boat Ship Crazy is a mobile game, targeted for iOS and Android. It is a socially competitive game, where the player must explore and unlock as many zones as they can by dodging obstacles, defeating bosses and upgrading their boat. Players will also be able to customise their boat by collecting unique sails, wood patterns, parrots and more. Once players have collected a cosmetic item they like, they will be able to share it to Facebook and show off to their friends. Players will also be able to see what zone their friends are on and try to surpass them.

We quickly became housemates and have been working together on game jams, contests, and other game projects ever since.  Our teams focus will be on delivering a game that will artistically stand with the current ‘art-house’ legends of the industry. Exposure will hopefully mark the start of our team’s success as an independent studio and will be a defining piece in our team’s cultural development.

About the project

Exposure is a cinematic, story-driven adventure game punctuated by moments of suspense and awe. Players become David, an inhabitant of an old industrial town now littered with outdated A.I husks. Players use a forgotten historical artifact, a camera, to capture evidence of strange ethereal presences hiding within the environment. The player must solve puzzles – by manipulating the camera’s functions to produce images that capture the enigmatic behavior of ‘the ethereal’. Become lost in Exposure’s rich and original world while exploring your own creativity with the freedom of photography.

We are planning to offer a VR Base-Defense game that will bring something fresh to the industry. We have a diverse team with multiple skill sets which allow us to cover more areas of development between each other.

About the project

Jeff’s Tower is a virtual reality game where you play as the protagonist (Jeff) who is a woodland botanist that unexpectedly stumbles across an ancient rune stone steeped in legend.
The aim of the game is to play as Jeff to defend the tower to prevent the evil king from obtaining the rune while using the new magic powers you have just obtained to stop waves of incoming enemies from a 360-degree view.
